A market-specific title generator assembles one set of product details into the exact field order and character limit each marketplace enforces. Enter your product once, pick a channel, and get three ready-to-paste titles with a live counter, a mobile truncation preview and the current rule sheet for that channel. Amazon now caps titles at 75 characters, eBay at 80, Etsy at 140, Google Shopping at 150.

Ranking length and display length are different numbers on every channel. The first column is what the field accepts; the third is what a shopper actually reads on a phone.
| Marketplace | Hard limit | Visible in search | Recommended | Structure |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon | 75 (Media ~200) | ~75 | 60–75 | Keyword, brand, type, attributes |
| eBay | 80 (rejects longer) | ~50 | 78–80 | Brand, model, type, attributes |
| Etsy | 140 | ~40 | 100–140 | Keyword phrases, comma separated |
| Walmart | 75 | ~70 | 50–75 | Brand, quality, item name, style, pack |
| Shopify | 70 (SEO page title) | ~60 | 50–60 | Keyword, product, then brand |
| Google Shopping | 150 | ~70 | 70–150 | Brand, type, attribute, variant |
| TikTok Shop | 200 (25 minimum) | ~80 | 40–80 | Brand, key feature, type, size |
Amazon's 75-character cap applies from 27 July 2026 in every category except Media, with a separate 125-character Item Highlights field alongside it.
A product title is two things at once: an index record the marketplace reads to decide which searches you belong in, and a display line a shopper skims in a grid of near-identical tiles. Every marketplace weighs those two jobs differently, which is why one title copied across channels always underperforms on at least two of them.
Amazon has moved decisively toward the index-record view. From 27 July 2026 the title is a short identity field of 75 characters, with the descriptive load pushed into a second 125-character Item Highlights field. The title now carries roughly half of Amazon's keyword ranking weight, so the primary keyword has to lead — there is no room to bury it.
eBay sits at the other end. Cassini scores token overlap between the query and the title, so unused characters are unmatched queries. The practical target is 78 to 80 characters, with the decisive words inside the first 50 because that is all a phone shows.
Etsy tolerates the most room at 140 characters but shows the least, around 40. Google Shopping accepts 150 and displays about 70, and treats promotional words as a disapproval risk rather than a style choice.
Lead with the search phrase, not the adjective. Words like beautiful, premium and unique occupy the highest-visibility characters on the page and tell the algorithm nothing. Put the noun a buyer types in position one.
Write attributes, not adjectives. Material, size, colour, pack count and model number are the terms buyers filter and search by. They also survive an automated rewrite, because a rewrite engine keeps identifiers and drops persuasion.
Never repeat a word. Repetition wins nothing on any modern marketplace and triggers rewrite or suppression on Amazon and Walmart. One mention indexes the term.
Strip promotional language entirely. Sale, best, free shipping, lowest price and their variants are prohibited in Amazon titles and in the Google Shopping title attribute, and they burn characters that an attribute could have used.
Front-load for the truncation point, not the limit. Write the full length the field allows, then check that the title still identifies the product when it is cut at the display point — 50 characters on eBay, 40 on Etsy, 70 on Walmart and Google.
